Recording from Line-In
If your microphone has an 8th-inch jack, then you can plug it
directly into the line-in of your computer. No external sound
interface is required. Your built-in sound card is JACK's
default input, so no changes are necessary.
If your microphone can easily and cleanly adapted to the
standard 8th-inch input with a cable or a simple plug adapter,
then you can use this method of recording, as well.
